P25 vs S35 vs V45 vs EGR Ranger Fender Flares

Ranger Next Gen Fender Flare Guide

P25 vs S35 vs V45 vs EGR

Choosing the right flare width for a Next Gen Ranger comes down to vehicle model, wheel offset, tyre size and the look you want.

Utemart sells several different Ranger Next Gen flare kits because one style does not suit every build. A clean daily driver on mild wheels needs a different flare to a Ranger running aggressive offset wheels.

Quick Answer

Choose P25 for the cleanest slimline look and PHEV compatibility, S35 for a balanced 35mm Utemart flare, V45 for the widest Utemart coverage, and EGR 35mm if you want a factory / dealer option flare.

Start With Wheel Coverage

The first question is not brand. It is how much flare coverage your wheel and tyre setup actually needs. A stock or mild wheel setup can look awkward with too much flare, while an aggressive offset setup may still poke past a slimmer flare.

Setup Type Practical Starting Point Why
Cleaner +30 to +25 style setups P25 A slimmer 25mm flare keeps the Ranger looking tidy without making mild wheels look tucked in.
Moderate Ranger builds S35 or EGR 35mm 35mm coverage suits many common aftermarket wheel and tyre packages.
More aggressive wheel coverage V45 The wider 45mm Utemart option gives more guard coverage when the wheel setup needs it.

This is a guide only. Tyre brand, sidewall shape, wheel width, offset, alignment and ride height all change the final result.

Wheel and tyre coverage depends on exact tyre sidewall, offset, alignment and how the vehicle sits. If you are unsure, send Utemart your wheel size, offset and tyre size before ordering.

Material and Build Quality

Most reputable Ranger flare kits use automotive-grade plastic, but thickness, mould quality and edge fitment still matter. A cheap flare can look fine in photos and still be frustrating once it is fitted to the vehicle.

P25, S35, V45 and EGR all sit in the proper aftermarket accessory category rather than throwaway budget flares. The real decision is less about avoiding bad material here and more about choosing the right shape, mounting method, finish and price point for your build.

Fixing and Installation

Installation method matters because it affects how easy the kit is to fit, how secure it feels long term, and whether you are comfortable doing it yourself. Some flare kits use pressure-fit or hardware-style mounting, some include tape assistance, and some use a more OEM-style hardware approach.

Do not choose purely by mounting method. A well-designed tape-assisted flare can still be a solid choice when the mould quality is good and the surface is prepared correctly. Likewise, a hardware-mounted flare can be excellent, but may take longer to fit.

Where mounting style really matters is paint surface preparation. The 3M tape used on flare kits is very strong when the guard area is cleaned, prepped and treated with the included primer, but it is not recommended on hydrophobic surfaces such as ceramic-coated utes or freshly waxed paint. If your Ranger has ceramic coating or fresh wax around the guards, a taped flare such as S35 or V45 may not bond properly.

Fitment Notes Before You Order

  • PHEV RangersThe P25 product page lists PHEV compatibility. The S35 product page specifically says it will not suit PHEV vehicles, so do not assume every Next Gen Ranger flare kit fits the plug-in hybrid.
  • Wildtrak and Platinum sensorsThe S35 product page notes sensor relocation into the bumper flare on 2022-2024 Platinum/Wildtrak vehicles, while 2025-2026 Platinum/Wildtrak vehicles are noted as not having sensors. Check your vehicle before ordering.
  • V45 sensor noteThe V45 page lists "No Sensor". If your Ranger has sensor hardware around the flare area, confirm fitment before choosing the widest kit.
  • Bumper bar or bull barS35, P25 and V45 are listed to suit bumper bar or bull bar setups, but accessory combinations can vary. If your Ranger has an aftermarket bar, send photos before buying.
  • Wheel poke and mud flapsIf you prefer to run your Ranger pokey, or your wheel and tyre setup is right on the edge of fitting inside the flares, wider Volcano Offroad Ranger mud flaps can help cover the visual poke. As an example, Utemart runs P25 flares on a 9 inch +20 wheel setup with poke, but the wider mud flap helps make it look covered from behind.
  • Ceramic coating or fresh wax3M taped flares such as S35 and V45 need a properly cleaned and primed surface. They are not recommended on hydrophobic surfaces like ceramic-coated or freshly waxed utes.
  • EGR trim removalEGR flares require removal of the factory black plastic wheel arch trims. P25, S35 and V45 are designed to fit over the top of the factory trims instead.
  • Ranger RaptorThis guide is for standard Ranger Next Gen flare kits. Ranger Raptor uses a separate flare setup, so check the Raptor-specific product instead.
  • Decorative V45 boltsThe V45 page notes the bolts in the flares are decorative and do not screw into the body.

Common Questions

Are wider flares always better?

No. Wider flares can look tough, but too much flare on a mild wheel setup can make the wheels look tucked in. Match the flare width to the wheel and tyre package.

Which flare looks closest to factory?

The P25 is the cleanest slimline option if you want a subtle Utemart flare. EGR is the better comparison if you specifically want an EGR/OEM-style finish or factory-colour pathway.

Which option should I choose for aggressive wheels?

Start by comparing your wheel specs to the product-page wheel notes. V45 is the widest Ranger Next Gen option listed here, while S35 and EGR are both 35mm options for many moderate aftermarket setups. If you like a pokey setup or are right on the edge of flare coverage, wider Volcano Offroad mud flaps can also help cover poke from behind.

Can I fit standard Ranger flares to a Ranger Raptor?

No. Ranger Raptor uses a separate flare setup, so standard Ranger S35, P25 and V45 kits should not be treated as Raptor fitment.

Can Utemart help check fitment before I order?

Yes. Send the vehicle model, year, wheel width, offset, tyre size and a clear side photo if possible. That gives the team enough context to point you at the right flare style.

Need Help Choosing?

Send Utemart your Ranger model, wheel size, offset and tyre size. The team can help match your setup to the right flare kit before you order.
